Computer Training Source offers Microsoft Excel Training in the Chicago Illinois area (Downtown, Schaumburg, Northbrook, and Naperville). Microsoft Excel for Windows is the most popular spreadsheet program today. Use it for financial analysis, budgeting, financial worksheets, sales projections, and more. We offer four levels of classes: Introduction, Intermediate, Advanced, and VBA. Click on a link below to view available class dates.
In our Excel Introduction class students will learn to move and copy data, learn about absolute and relative references, and work with ranges, rows, and columns. They will also learn how to navigate worksheets and workbooks. Then they will enter and edit text, values, formulas, and pictures, and they will save workbooks. This course also covers simple functions used in formulas (including SUM, AVERAGE, and COUNT), basic conditional formatting techniques, printing, inserting screen shots, and working with large spreadsheets. Finally, students will create and modify basic charts.

In our Excel Intermediate class learn how to work with PivotTables and PivotCharts. Students will also learn how to use multiple worksheets and workbooks efficiently,
and they will start working with more advanced formatting options, and sort and filter data. They will also learn how to create outlines and subtotals, how to create and apply cell names, and how to work with tables. This course also covers advanced charting techniques, including trendlines and sparklines, worksheet auditing and protection, file sharing and merging, and workbook templates.

In our Excel Advanced class Students will work with advanced formulas, learning functions such as VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MATCH, IF, SUMIF, ROUND , PMT, IFERROR, COUNTIF and INDEX. In addition, students will learn about data validation and database functions such as DSUM, DCOUNT, and DAVERAGE, and creating formulas with dates. They will learn how to import and export XML data, and how to query external databases. Finally, students will learn about the analytical features of Excel (such as Goal Seek and Solver) and running and recording macros.

In our Excel VBA class you will learn how to use Visual Basic for Applications to customize macros, create interactive workbooks, and design user-created special functions.
